Introduction Manufacturing Contracting Fixing Sculptures

The manufacturing process broadly involves taking stone in slab, block or tile form and cutting the stone to a desired shape. In it's simplest form, this may involve cutting the corners from tiles for contrasting stone insets. Alternatively, it may involve the more complicated manufacture of a sink carved from a solid block of stone. By producing a lot of bespoke work, Marmi & Granito have developed a vital appreciation of what can and cannot be done with stone.

The manufacturing process relies, not only on the masons and the machinery, but also the product specifications supplied. Marmi & Granito offer a templating service, and will visit the proposed site to survey and measure, allowing the client to divest all responsibility to Marmi & Granito. Recent advances in computer technology have meant that Marmi & Granito are able to produce millimetre-perfect hardboard templates. Alternatively, stone can be cut from measurements the client supplies to Marmi & Granito, or from accurate templates supplied by a professional.

Whenever possible before selecting stone to be cut, Marmi & Granito prefer clients to view the actual stone. Marmi & Granito welcome clients to the factory to see stone being manufactured first-hand; large stocks of all types of stone are held at the factory and many aspects of stonework are produced daily including flooring, kitchen worktops, vanities, bath surrounds, fireplaces and hearths. The factory is capable of shift work and in some cases stone can be cut and delivered to a site in less than 24 hours.
